Members gathered on the chilly afternoon at Franklin Park for the Scavenger Hunt. Club members were given the lists of over 45 items to find. Items on the list ranged from coins to trash, including rusty nails, copper wire and pull tabs. When you're digging signals you might not ordinarily dig, unusual finds are made... members found a Victorian gold brooch, rings, and even a 1900 Barber dime at a very shallow depth!
Twelve participants had three hours to find as many items as they could on the list (with their metal detectors, of course) scoring one point for each. The results were just about as close as they could get with Anthony Crabtree scoring 16 items and snagging first place! John Griffith scavenged 14 items and second place with Lonnie Jones a close third with 13 items. All three won silver Peace Dollars! Everyone left with a prize including silver dimes, quarters, COMDA and Garrett swag.
